Police officers attacked protesters and the press with tear gas bombs, bombs with moral effect and rubber bullets in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on November 16, 2016. Rio de Janeiro has a day of conflicts between police and state public officials, who protest against cuts in wages and benefits. The austerity measures are in voting in Alerj and can be approved in the next days. At least 15 people were injured with rubber bullets, tear gas bombs, morale bombs and water jets. Demonstrators overturned the railing that surrounded Alerj (Rio de Janeiro State Parliament) and attempted to invade the historic building, where congressmen debated austerity measures.
