Olympic Park Rio 2016 has been transformed into a leisure area but few people use it
Olympic Aquatic Stadium is being dismantled, but works are delayed. The pool used during competitions will be installed in another region of the city. Built to host most of the competitions during the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the Olympic Park has been transformed into a leisure area and is under the management of the Brazilian Federal Ministry of Sports. However, the site remains mostly empty because few people use the space because of lack of structure. There are no public restrooms or drinking fountains for use by the public and not even places for food like foodtrucks or snack bars. Despite this, the place is very well taken care of, with private security guards and security guards of the Municipal Guard. The place serves as a leisure area only on weekends.
