Tour of Lwow's Eaglets Cemetery

A view of tombs of Polish pilots (L-R) Stefan Stec, Stefan Bastyr and Wladysław Torun in the Defenders of Lwow Cemetery (also known as Cemetery of Lwow's Eaglets). Stefan Stec's personal emblem from the time of Austrian service, a red and white checkerboard, was adopted on December 1, 1918 as the Polish Air Force national insignia. The cemetery, a part of the historic Lychakiv Cemetery, is a memorial and a burial place for the Poles and their allies who died in Lwow during the Polish-Ukrainian War (1918−1919) and Polish-Soviet War (1919−1921). On Thursday, July 20, 2017, in Lviv, Ukraine. (Photo by Artur Widak/NurPhoto)
