PrivatBank is Ukraine's largest commerical bank but was nationalised in 2016 due to a 5.6 billion dollar gap in it's budget as a result of fraud. On Sunday the first round in the presidential elections will take place in which comedian Volodymyr Zelenskiy is leading in the polls. Zelenskiy is a close associate to the former owner of PrivatBank and has said that re-privatisation of the bank would be considered if he were to be elected president.
