Mandura Eid Tradition In Central Sulawesi

Residents read prayers in mosques in the Mandura Eid Tradition in Kampung Baru, Palu, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia, Tuesday (June 11, 2019). Mandura is the name of a traditional food made from three-color pulut rice and wrapped in banana and then cooked. Before being fought over by residents, Mandura was paraded around the village and then taken to the mosque. After being left in the mosque for a while, Mandura was then carried to an open place for citizens to fight over. The festival, which is held every seven days after Eid Al-Fitr, lasts three days and presents a variety of culinary, art performances, and local culture which is dominated by Islamic traditions.
