Urban Transport: Manchester Metrolink

A Metrolink tram travelling through Manchester on Tuesday 24th February 2015. -- The Manchester Metrolink is a light-railway transport system which operates through central Manchester to the outer suburbs of Altrincham, Ashton, Bury, East Didsbury, Eccles, Manchester Airport and Rochdale. The Metrolink is now the United Kingdom's largest tram system, with 57 miles of track. The operational rolling stock was built by Bombardier and carried about 26 million people, according to GMPTE. Passengers and local residents frequently criticise the network for its poor performance due to delays and other problems, some of which are beyond the operator's control.
