Archeological Excavations In Istanbul

Haydarpasa Train Station in Istanbul, Turkey which had been opened in 1872 and served until 2012, despite several breaks. At the beginning of 2019, Getty Research Institute (GRI) digitalized and shared an archive of 6 thousand images of the station from the Ottoman empire as well as images of the station from WWI. The station is currently an archeological site and under restoration, and historical discoveries have been made which are dated back to Roman, Byzantian, Ottoman eras and the beginning of Turkish Republic. Along with architectural findings from the Early Byzantian era, evidence that the Saint Euphemie Church were also discovered. The Church is a significant statue in the history of Christianity as it was home to many decisions made during several councils in the beginning of A.D. 451. On 26 June 2019 in Istanbul, Turkey.
