Jaffna Palaly Airport-Inaugural Ceremony
The Jaffna Palaly Airport will be developed as a regional airport and the inaugural ceremony is to be held at the Palali airport premises with the participation of Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Arjuna Ranatunga. The main objective of this development project is to launch a regional civil aviation zone between India and Sri Lanka by the first week of August. Once the project is completed a number of destinations like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Cochin, and Bangalore will be covered. On July 05, 2019, in Jaffna, Sri Lanka. The total cost of the Jaffna Palali Airport Development project is Rs. 2,250 million. Accordingly, the Government is to invest Rs. 1950 million and Rs. 300 million has been given by the state of India as a loan. Jaffna Airport also is known as Palaly Airport and SLAF Palaly, is an air force base and domestic airport in the town of Palaly in Jaffna District, Northern Province, Sri Lanka.
