Police Unions Protest Against Working Conditions

Happening of the SGP Police Unit union where demonstrators wearing a white mask with a tear of blood make a die-in with in the middle of them a demonstrator disguised as The Grim Reaper, the character embodying death, and others carrying coffin-shaped signs numbered in reference to the number of police officers who committed suicide this year on Wednesday, October 2, 2019, during the police officers' demonstration in Paris at the call of most police unions (including Alliance Police Nationale and SGP Unité Police) for the "Marche des angères" between the Place de la Bastille and the Place de la République. This historic demonstration day, which brought together more than 20,000 police officers, aimed to raise awareness of the working conditions and lack of resources of police officers, but above all of the historically high suicide rate and the number of unpaid overtime hours.
