Southeastern Indiana HIV Epidemic

A group of Volunteers search the ditch lines near Rural St. in Austin Indiana for used needles, Scott County in Southeastern Indiana is witnessing the worst out break of HIV in the states history due to drug abuse of the prescription painkiller Opana in which users "shoot" the drug by way of injection with syringe and needles. Needle sharing is not a uncommon and is the number one way that HIV has been spread as a result the state has authorized a short-term needle exchange program in hopes of stopping the transmission of the HIV virus.
