Fire Victims Struggle With Homelessness, Unemployment Amid COVID-19 In Philippines
A family rests on their makeshift home in Manila, Philippines on April 22, 2020 after a recent fire razed their house and about 500 others in a slum area. While the majority of residents take shelter in evacuation centers, others opted to stay in their destroyed homes despite having no electricity. Many of the fire victims struggle with unemployment as the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) is still in place in several areas in the Philippines including Manila to curb the spread of COVID-19.(Photo by Lisa Marie David/NurPhoto)
