Vandalized Stateus in Brussels, Belgium
Vandalized statue of King of Belgium Boudewijn in Brussels - Belgium on 22 June 2020. He was the last Belgian king to be sovereign of the Congo, in 1960, King Boudewijn declared the Belgian colony of Congo independent. Protest and demonstrations against racism have been raging worldwide since the death of American George Floyd. Due to the increasing awareness of colonialism in Belgium municipalities and mayors will decide what to do with King Leopold II statues and names related to colonial Congo.
