Hazel Blears, a former Labour Party member, leaving the Co-Operative Group's annual general meeting in central Manchester on Saturday 16th May 2015. -- The Co-Operative annual general meeting, which took place in Manchester on Satuday 16th May 2015, decided to maintain the donations to the Labour Party and the Co-Operative Party. The decision was made by people voting, by the group's membership. At the vote, 55% of the group's membership decided to continue to 'approve political expenditures, not to exceed £1 million per annum, that support the objectives of the co-operative movement' according to an official Co-Op Group statement. A series of other decisions were made, but opposition to directors pay was also discussed at the annual general meeting which took place at the Manchester Central conference in central Manchester. It is thought that 1000 members of the Co-Operative movement attended the event. (Photo by Jonathan Nicholson/NurPhoto)
