Anti-Farm Bill Protest In Kolkata
A lady holding a plate with written protest message during the demonstration against farm bill 2020.Female wing of Trinamool congress took out a sit in protest demonstration to oppose the controversial Farm bill which was introduced by the Government of India few days back. There was a huge opposition during the proceeding of the bill proposal in the parliament , leading to suspension of 8 members from the house . The bill lead to an widespread protest . The bill creates a framework for the farmers to do business with agri-business companies and exporters, but the farmers fear that this would lead to low or nil support price for their produce and might also lead to corporate dictating prices of their produce.
