London To Go Into 'Tier 2' Coronavirus Lockdown
People walk through a near-deserted Leicester Square in London, England, on October 15, 2020. London is to be placed under "Tier 2" coronavirus lockdown measures from this weekend, which will introduce a ban on people from different households from mixing anywhere indoors, spelling particular concern for the already badly-affected hospitality industry. Several other parts of the country are also to see their covid-19 restrictions similarly stepped-up. The three-tier system for England came into effect this week, with each area of the country classed as being on a medium, high or very high alert (otherwise known as Tiers 1 to 3).
