NBI Arrests 2 Members Of Notorious Terrorist Group
Radel Janing Jamil, a.k.a. “Tamiya” is presented to the media during a press conference at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) headquarters in Manila, Philippines on October 20, 2020. The NBI announced arrests of two members of the notorious Abu Sayyaf Terrorist Group, including Jamar, who they say were part of a kidnapping activity in southern Philippines in 2002. The Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020 which was signed into law in July 2020 drew heavy flak as human rights lawyers state that the law is “too vague” and is prone to abuse by authorities. NBI officials however assured the public that all of their agents value the rights of every human being. (Photo by George Calvelo/NurPhoto)
