The Giant Kite Festival In Guatemala

The Rucal brothers are making a giant kite at their home in Sumpango Sacatepequez, 60 kilometers west of Guatemala City, on Thursday, October 22, 2020. For the festival on November 1st on the Day of the Dead, in honor of the deceased of Civid-19. The Ministry of Health recommends continuing to comply with prevention measures to avoid the further spread of the new coronavirus. The festival will be held virtually and with 50% of the visitors present. 35 Guatemalan families are participating in the elaboration of kites with Chinese paper of various colors, which measure 3 meters. The spiritual objective of raising them to honor the dead and the living, this year the theme was the pandemic that affects the world.
