Partial Lockdown Announced In Poland

A mobile SARS-CoV-2 testing station is seen at the parking of the Palace of Culture and Sciences in Warsaw, Poland on November 3, 2020. The Prime Minister's office on Wednesday announced further restrictions amounting to a partial lockdown to prevent further spread of the coronavirus. Shopping malls, elementary schools and cultural institutions will be forced to close for two weeks starting this Saturday. Daily cases have been rising sharply in recent weeks despite restaurants and bars having been closed and air travel restricted. Hospitals across the country have been overwhelmed with new cases and in some cases have had to refuse patients. The healthcare system is at its most perilous point since the start of the epidemic according to a statement by Health Minister Adam Niedzielski today. (Photo by Jaap Arriens/NurPhoto)
