The blaze began a few hours after the Greek government via the migration ministry announced that people in the camp have been tested positive for Covid-19 Coronavirus and would be relocated into quarantine facilities. Police arrested and brought to courts young Afghans accusing them to have initiated the fires. Moria camp was located near the island's capital port town Mytilene or Mitilini.
