Daily Life In Sri Lanka
Toppled grave markers in a cemetery for LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam) fighters killed during the civil war in Mannar, Sri Lanka. The graveyard was bulldozed and flattened by the Sri Lankan Army but a few grave markers still remain. This is just one of the many reminders of the deep scars caused during the 26-year long civil war between the Sri Lankan Army and the LTTE. The United Nations estimates about 40,000 people were killed during the war. (Photo by Creative Touch Imaging Ltd./NurPhoto)
