Turkey Declared Partial Lockdown During Ramadan

People do their shopping from the local market in the Kadikoy district of Istanbul, Turkey on the first day of fasting for the Muslim holy month of Ramadan on April 13, 2021. President Erdogan today announced a two-week partial lockdown during Ramadan and the new measures which will be in operation starting on Wednesday evening. According to the latest stricter restrictions, a weekday curfew will be imposed between 7 p.m. - previously 9 p.m - and 5 a.m. from Monday to Friday. Restaurants and cafes will only be providing delivery and takeaway services during the permitted hours. This restriction will be in effect until after the Ramadan Bayram, also known as Eid al-Fitr.
