May Day Demonstration In Paris

A demonstrator insults a police officer in riot gear after charges and tear gas were used to repel violent protesters. The traditional May Day demonstration in Paris gathered several thousand people to march between the Place de la Républiques and the Place de la Nation following the call of the main trade unions (CGT, FO, FSU, Solidaires...) despite the health restrictions currently in place. The demonstration was quickly punctuated by violence between black bloc and police before at the end of the demonstration, radical demonstrators attacked the CGT procession, injuring several people.
