May Day Demonstration In Paris

Scenes of violence broke out in the middle of the leading procession forcing the police to use tear gas in the middle of the crowd. The traditional May Day demonstration in Paris gathered several thousand people to march between the Place de la Républiques and the Place de la Nation following the call of the main trade unions (CGT, FO, FSU, Solidaires...) despite the health restrictions currently in place. The demonstration was quickly punctuated by violence between black bloc and police before at the end of the demonstration, radical demonstrators attacked the CGT procession, injuring several people.
