Christmas Season In Philippines Amid The Covid-19 Pandemic

Catholics wearing face masks are attending the first day of Rooster's Mass in Antipolo City, Philippines on morning of December 16, 2021. Rooster's Mass locally known as Misa De Gallo is a nine-day series of masses which practiced by devoted Catholics in the Philippines in anticipation of Christmas. Days left before Christmas celebration, the Philippines' health department reported the first two cases of Omicron variant. Some expert says that this variant maybe more transmissable than the Delta. While the Omicron variant brings more potential threat to the Philippines, the country reported 237 new cases of COVID-19 as of December 15. One of the lowest daily count reported since May 2020.
