'The Blue Boy' Goes On Display At The National Gallery In London
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM - JANUARY 24, 2022: Children of National Gallery staff and of the US Embassy in London, dressed in shades of blue and cravats, pose in front of 'The Blue Boy' (1770) painting by Thomas Gainsborough at the National Gallery to mark the centenary of the painting's last public appearance in the UK on January 24, 2022 in London, England. The painting, now owned by the Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens in San Marino, California, is on exceptional loan and will be on display between 25 January and 15 May 2022 alongside a selection of five paintings that demonstrate Gainsborough's interest in works of Van Dyck's.
