Strong Wind Dectructions In Poland
A huge red beech tree at Planty park that was knocked down by a strong wind on February 18th. Krakow, Poland on February 21, 2022. The 100-year-old tree which was listed as natural monument was 27 meters high and its circumference was 433 cm. The tree had very weak roots that were attacked by the fan fungus. Strong winds in last days caused structural damage in many parts of Poland. The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) issued third degree alerts for some regions. The winds were reaching the speed of up to 120 km/h. (Photo by Beata Zawrzel/NurPhoto)
