Indonesian Hindus Celebrate Galungan Day
A Pinandita brings a cup filled with holy water to sprinkle to the people who follow the Galungan Day prayers at the Great Temple of Wanakerta Jagatnatha, Palu City, Central Sulawesi Province, Indonesia on June 8, 2022. Galungan Day is celebrated on the Buddhist day of Kliwon Dungulan as the day of victory of Dharma (righteousness) against Adharma (evil) which is commemorated every 210 days based on Pawukon calculations. Galungan can be interpreted as a form of silence over the prosperity and well-being bestowed by God Almighty. Galungan is a ladder to a cleaner life. (Photo by Basri Marzuki/NurPhoto)
