Selva Sannidhi Murugan Temple In Sri Lanka
Elderly women sleep outside the entrance to the Selva Sannidhi Murugan Temple (Selvachannithy Murugan Kovil) as they take refuge from the hot mid-day sun in Thondaimanaru, Jaffna, Sri Lanka. The temple complex is dedicated to Lord Murugan and according to the history, was attacked by the Buddhists who burnt the temple and its wooden chariots to the ground. Large banyan trees planted by Sri Lankan Buddhists can be seen growing around the temple. (Photo by Creative Touch Imaging Ltd./NurPhoto)
