Wheat Harvest In France
An organic field of wheat is seen in the Tarn Department (SW of France) before being harvested. This wheat field is composed of 'ancients seeds' of local varieties of wheat : Magali and Rouge de Noe. The farmer explains that the May's and June's heatwaves have dented its yields. However even if the wheat has suffered from the drought, he said, the ears of wheat are beautiful. Due to heatwaves and drought, severals countries such as France, India or USA expects a lower yield of wheat this year. the situation is already dire in North Africa (amid other) due to the delayed shipments of Ukrainian and Russian wheat, in Mazamet.
