Wheat Harvest In France
Grains of organic wheat fall into a trailer after the harvest in the Tarn Department (SW of France). The wheat fields are composed of 'ancients seeds' of local varieties of wheat : Magali and Rouge de Noe. The farmer explains that the May's and June's heatwaves have dented its yields. However even if the wheat has suffered from the drought, he said, the ears of wheat are beautiful. Due to heatwaves and drought, severals countries such as France, India or USA expects a lower yield of wheat this year. the situation is already dire in North Africa (amid other) due to the delayed shipments of Ukrainian and Russian wheat, in Mazamet.
