Meena Chopra

Meena Chopra in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Meena Chopra is a South Asian painter, poet, educator and community advocate, now settled in Canada, hails from Nainital, a hill resort in India. Writer of several poetry books, Meena has had many art exhibitions in many countries, which include India, Canada, and England. She writes both in English and in native Hindi. Her poems have been widely published in many national and international journals. Chopra eschews the bindi, a traditional decorative red dot painted on the forehead. Instead, she paints a bold black snake figure in its place. Like the bold images of her paintings, it has become what she calls her artistic signature.
