Inhabitants Of Culhuacán, Mexico City, Celebrate Saint Francis Of Assisi
Inhabitants of San Francisco Culhuacán, in Mexico City, during the procession and commemoration of Saint Francis of Assisi, who lived in Italy in the 12th century and who, according to the Catholic faith, has to do with a village where there was a wolf that frightened all the people and animals. St. Francis of Assisi had a gift with animals, according to the anonymous text Little Flowers of St. Francis, which dates from the 14th century. In that story, a wolf terrorised the town of Gubbio, devouring animals and people, until St Francis spoke to him and they became friends. From then on, the wolf lived among the people, who cared for him and fed him. He was also a saint who, among other things, rediscovered the profound link between poverty and the path that leads to God. (Photo by Gerardo Vieyra/NurPhoto)
