Protest In Paris

The main union leaders of the inter-union group, including Laurent Berger, general secretary of the CFDT (Confederation Democratique Du Travail), Philippe Martinez, general secretary of the CGT (Confederation Generale du Travail), and Frederic Souillot, general secretary of FO (Force Ouvriere), are present in the union procession at a new demonstration in Paris as part of a national day of strikes and protests called by the unions concerning the pension reform project on March 11, 2023. The reform proposed by the government includes raising the minimum retirement age from 62 to 64 and increasing the number of years of contributions to receive a full pension. The unions have promised to keep up the pressure on the government, with an upcoming day of mass demonstrations, and some have even said they will continue with unlimited strikes.
