A 33-year-old male is bitten several times by a dog and found dead in an apartment on the 5500 block of West Quincy Street in Chicago, Illinois, United States, on August 24, 2024. At approximately 8:30 p.m. Saturday evening, a 33-year-old male is discovered unresponsive in the vestibule of a two-flat apartment building. The victim has several dog bites on his body and several dogs are located in the apartment. The victim is pronounced dead and the exact cause of death is under investigation. Animal control is on the scene along with Chicago police.

The 28-spotted Potato Ladybird or the Hadda Beetles (Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata) are destroying a bitter gourd (Momordica charantia) plant by breaking off and eating its flowers, and their larvae grubs are scraping the leaves together by the lower epidermis of leaves in a characteristic manner, leaving behind stripes of uneaten areas. The leaves are giving a stifled appearance and are being eaten off, leaving only the veins intact (skeletonization), and the plants may wither. Sometimes these beetle pairs are mating in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on July 6, 2024.
