In Daegu, South Korea, on January 11, 2024, a view of the deserted street once concentrated with dog meat vendors at Chilsung Market is seen following the aversion towards dog meat soup. The ''Special Law on the End of Dog Meat Consumption'' was passed and enacted in the National Assembly on January 9, 2024. In Korea, consuming dog meat is no longer permitted. The notorious reputation associated with the ''dog meat industry'' is fading into history. The new law supports the closure of dog farms and related facilities for three years after its enactment, leading to the industry's eventual extinction. Starting from 2027, the breeding, farming, slaughter, distribution, and sale of dogs for consumption will be prohibited and penalized. The country now has a clear legal obligation to formulate measures to end dog meat consumption and to provide the necessary administrative and financial support.

A pot of dog meat soup is simmering and waiting for customers at a restaurant in Chilsung Market in Daegu, South Korea, on January 11, 2024. The ''Special Law on the End of Dog Meat Consumption'' was passed and enacted in the National Assembly on January 9, 2024. In Korea, consuming dog meat will no longer be permitted. The notorious reputation of being a ''dog-eating barbarian'' and the ''dog meat industry'' will also fade into history. The newly enacted law will support the closure of dog farms and related facilities for three years after its promulgation, leading to the extinction of the industry. Starting from 2027, it will prohibit and penalize the breeding, farming, slaughter, distribution, and sale of dogs for consumption. The country now has a clear legal duty to formulate measures to end dog meat consumption and to provide the necessary administrative and financial support.

KRAKOW, POLAND - AUGUST 10, 2023: The board in front of the exchange office in the center of Krakow, where the owners provide only the selling exchange rate of currencies, seen on August 10, 2023, in Krakow, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, Poland. For years, numerous dishonest exchange office owners have prominently displayed inflated exchange rates or only selling exchange rates, luring unsuspecting tourists. Sadly, these practices persist as cases often go unpunished. Despite investigations, legal action is limited due to complex circumstances. This ongoing situation undermines both tourists' trust and the integrity of these businesses.
