During the month-long storytelling ritual, the stories of Goddess Swasthani, God Shiva, and other gods are narrated while the devotees recite holy scripture and pray for the well-being of their spouses. The rituals associated with the Swasthani Katha take place on the banks of rivers in various Hindu shrines across the country.
