In their action, they called on citizens to reduce the use of single-use plastics. In Indonesia, of the 19.45 million tons of waste in 2022, 18.4 percent was plastic waste (3.6 million tons). Meanwhile, only 9 percent of plastic waste can be recycled, the remaining 12 percent is burned and 79 percent ends up in landfills and pollutes the environment.
