The emblem on the flag is coloured white depicting the world map in the azimuthal equidistant projection which is surrounded by a pair of olive branches. The emblem was officially adopted on 7 December 1946. The Peace Palace building of the International Court of Justice. The building of the Peace Palace houses the International Court of Justice, which is the principal judicial body of the United Nations, the Permanent Court of Arbitration PCA, The Hague Academy of International Law and the Peace Palace Library. ICJ or World Court is the only international court that adjudicates general disputes between nations, and gives advisory opinions on international legal issues. It is one of the six organs of the United Nations UN. The ICJ consists of a panel of 15 judges elected by the UN General Assembly and Security Council. The Hague, The Netherlands on January 26, 2024

BAYEUX, FRANCE - JUNE 16, 2023: The official comemoration event at General de Gaulle Square, outside the monument that commemorates the speech of General de Gaulle on June 14th, 1944, in Bayeux, France, on June 16, 2023. More than a hundred high school students, veterans and officials walked through the center of Bayeux to celebrate a triple anniversary: June 14, 1944 - General de Gaulle's return to French soil, the restoration of the institutions of the republic; June 16, 1946 - the famous Bayeux speech, laying the foundations for the Fifth Republic; and the more recent creation of the National Order of Merit in 1963.
