Dust covers the atmosphere of Banepa as the upgrade of Araniko Highway in the Suryabinayak-Dhulikhel section progresses in Kavrepalanchowk District of Nepal on May 22, 2025. The 16-kilometer stretch of Araniko Highway, which joins Kathmandu with the Chinese border, is being upgraded to Asian standard. Work is currently underway in the Suryabinayak-Dhulikhel section where the two-lane is being upgraded to a six-lane expressway. It has four motorable tracks and two service tracks on either side.

Elaborate carving of the Hindu Goddess Durga in the form of Mahishasurmardhini (the slayer of Mahishasur) adorns the gate at the entrance of the Durga temple in Dhulikhel, Nepal. Here Durga is slaying the half water buffalo demon-king Mahishasur. According to legend it was Mahishasur who was terrorizing Heaven and Earth and after ten days of fighting, Durga and her army defeated Mahishasur and killed him.
