Since 2016, Awab Abdullah has intensively campaigned for energy transformation from electricity sourced from coal power plants and diesel generators, to environmentally friendly solar energy for the surrounding community, including fishermen. The solar energy is not only used for household electricity needs, but can also be used to power small and medium industrial equipment, as well as for electricity needs for fishing boats. TBagyo said that since five years ago, he has adopted a hybrid system for electricity needs at home. He only uses electricity from the State Electricity Company (PLN) for large electronic devices such as televisions and referigrators, and uses solar power for lighting, which can save electricity energy costs at home to more than 50%.
