A person sells water and coffee outside AIMA's first immigrant assistance center at the Radha Krishna Hindu Center in Telheiras in Lisbon, Portugal, on September 24, 2024. The Portuguese AIMA's first immigrant assistance center, located at the Hindu Center in Telheiras, operates from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. with a staff of 100. The team consists of AIMA personnel and trained employees from civil society organizations. The center starts processing over 400,000 pending cases. Since October 29, 2023, AIMA assumes responsibility for migrant reception, integration, and asylum, following the dissolution of the Borders Service (SEF).
