The Asia Pacific region, led by major jute producer India, dominates the Jute Bags Market. India's rich production capabilities, coupled with the global shift towards eco-friendly alternatives, have contributed to the region's leadership. But India's jute industry is set to see revenue fall 5-6% this fiscal because of lower exports, marking the second consecutive year of decline, according to CRISIL (Credit Rating Information Services of India Limited) Ratings. However, domestic demand is expected to be stable. Exports, which form a third of the sector's revenue of Rs 12,000 crore, are seen 15% lower this fiscal after falling 8% last fiscal as overseas channel partners continue to destock amid slowdown worries in the US and Europe. Here Jute is cut and tied to the banks of the Jalangi River for shedding leaves and some of the fiber from the jute rotted in the river water is taken by laborers to be dried before sale in the market. But for the past few days, many fish have died due to the rotten water in the river and environmentalists have objected to the administration at Tehatta, West Bengal, India on 27/08/2023.
