The cardboard on the left reads 'We vote, we win, it's up to us to govern' and the one on the right reads 'Emmanuel to the trash bin'. Between 5,000 and 8,000 protesters march in Toulouse, France, on September 7, 2024, and in cities across France to protest against Macron's choice of Michel Barnier (conservative) as prime minister. Left parties call this protest to remind President Macron that the first coalition elected in June in the French Parliament is the New Popular Front. Leftist parties accuse the president of ignoring election results. The left, led by LFI, accuses Macron of a denial of democracy and stealing the election after Macron refuses to pick the candidate of the New Popular Front (NFP) alliance that comes top in the July vote. The left and the far-left unionize in a new umbrella called 'Nouveau Front Populaire' (i.e., 'New Popular Front'). President Emmanuel Macron calls a snap legislative election in June and is defeated. The new prime minister will try to govern with a coalition of Macronist and center-right. The RN (far right) says it will judge on pieces. Similar protests (130) take place elsewhere in France.

MP Anne Stambach-Terrenoir stands near policemen with the food and medecines supplies for 'Ecureuils'. Legally, policemen must let her supply 'Ecureuils' but they refuse. After the legally binding rapport of Michel Forst, United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights defenders, demanding the resupplies of 'Ecureuils' standing in the trees of the 'Crem'Arbre' ZAD (ie 'Zone To Defend'), activists from LVEL (La voie Est Libre ie The Way Is Free') and MP Anne Stambach-Terrenoir tried without success even with a doctor'prescription and and medecine for an 'Ecureuils'. 'Ecureuils' and their trees are besieged by police for more than a month. Policemen refue also to bring the medecines to 'Ecureuils' or to let journalists do their job. In Saix (Tarn) on the planned A69 highway between Toulouse and Castres, opponents installed a ZAD dubbed 'Crem'Arbre' (ie ZAD: Zone To Defend) and 'Ecureuils' ('squirrels') live in the trees to block their cutting. Gendarmes Mobiles (riot police) stand guard near the trees occupied by 'Ecureuils' to deny the supply of food and water by sympathizers. The Gendarmes Mobiles's siege around trees occupied by 'Ecureuils'. The main collective 'La Voie est Libre' (ie 'The Way is Free') wants the highway to be stopped until all the justice decisions on the content to be given. All expropiations for farmers aren't cleared. Opponents at this project say that the reprofiling of the N126 will be suffisant for the 6,000 vehicles planned per day and would cost far less money. The A69 highway will cost EUR512 millions (in 2018 euros without the inflation) for 53 kilometers. More than 100 protected species and 400ha of agricultural fields will be destroyed. Saix. Tarn. MP Anne Stambach-Terrenoir is bringing food and medicine to the 'Ecureuils' who are standing in the trees of the Cram'Arbre. Following the legally binding report by Michel Forst, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights defenders, which demanded the resupply of the 'Ecureuils' in the trees of the 'Crem'Arbre' ZAD (Zone To Defend), activists from LVEL (La Voie Est Libre, or 'The Way Is Free') and MP Anne Stambach-Terrenoir are trying unsuccessfully to deliver medicine, even with a doctor's prescription, to an 'Ecureuil'. The 'Ecureuils' and their trees have been besieged by the police for more than a month. The police also refuse to deliver the medicine to the 'Ecureuils' or to allow journalists to do their job. In Saix, Tarn, on the planned A69 highway between Toulouse and Castres, opponents have set up a ZAD called 'Crem'Arbre', and 'Ecureuils' are living in the trees to prevent them from being cut down. The Gendarmes Mobiles (riot police) are standing guard near the trees occupied by the 'Ecureuils' to prevent sympathizers from supplying food and water. The Gendarmes Mobiles are maintaining a siege around the trees. The main collective 'La Voie est Libre' wants the highway project to be halted until all judicial decisions on the matter are made. The expropriations for farmers have not been resolved. Opponents argue that the reprofiling of the N126 would be sufficient for the 6,000 vehicles expected per day and would cost far less. The A69 highway is projected to cost EUR512 million (in 2018 euros, not accounting for inflation) for 53 kilometers, and its construction would destroy more than 100 protected species and 400 hectares of agricultural land. This is taking place in Saix, Tarn, France, on March 22, 2024.
