Along with his wife Vivian, the Elmores are losing outbuildings and the majority of their land is burning. Their house is surviving the fire that is burning 3,789 acres in early July, threatening Oroville Dam, part of the California State Water Project (SWP) which is supplying water to close to 27 million Californians and 750,000 acres of farmland.
