The lesser whistling duck (Dendrocygna javanica), also known as the Indian whistling duck or lesser whistling teal, is a species of whistling duck that breeds in the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. Their name came from their distinctive whistling calls. They feed mainly on grains, small fish, frogs, mollusks and worms. They are nocturnal feeders that during the day may be found around lakes and wet paddy fields. The whistling ducks have long legs and necks, and are very gregarious, flying to and from night-time roosts in large flocks. They can perch on trees and sometimes build their nest in the hollow of a tree. Wild Lesser whistling ducks couple has sat in the higher branch of a mango tree at Tehatta, West Bengal; India on 03/06/2023.

The plum-headed parakeet (Psittacula cyanocephala) is a parakeet in the family Psittacidae. This brilliantly-colored parakeet is endemic to the Indian Subcontinent. The plum-headed parakeet is a mainly green parrot, 33 cm long with a tail up to 22 cm. Plum-headed parakeets are found in flocks, the males having a pinkish purple head and the females, having a grey head. They fly swiftly with twists and turns accompanied by their distinctive calls. A couple of plum-headed parakeet birds play on the upper branches of a distant bamboo tree at dusk and are almost camouflaged by the color of the bamboo leaves at Tehatta, West Bengal; India on 16/05/2023.

The little ringed plover (Charadrius dubius) measuring 15 to 18 cm in length and weighing 25 to 50 grams belongs to the family of lapwings and plovers, the Charadriidae distributed in Europe, central Asia, Middle East, central Africa, Indian subcontinent and southeast Asia. These plover species have a distinctive bright yellow eye-ring. These plovers are polytypic species. Breeds on stony substrates around lakes, gravel pits, and along rivers; migrants occur in a wide variety of fresh and brackish wetland habitats, but rarely out on open tidal areas. The call sounds like ''peu''. This photo was taken at the bank of Hooghly River (Ganges River distributary) in Rudrapara, Mayapur, West Bengal, India, on 29/01/2023.
