A very large oil tanker loaded with 303,500 tons of diluted bitumen is docked at Yantai Port in Yantai, Shandong Province, China, Aug. 4, 2023. A new record was set for the importation and unloading of diluted bitumen by a single ship at a domestic port. Data from the Ministry of Transport show that in the first half of 2023, China's port cargo throughput reached 8.19 billion tons, an increase of 8 percent year-on-year. Among them, domestic and foreign trade throughput increased by 7.6% and 8.9%, respectively.
