Upon arrival, police officers observe Darrell Harris with a gunshot wound to the head and the right arm. EMS responds and transports the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi, where he is pronounced dead. There are no arrests at this time, and the investigation is active and ongoing. NYPD Crime Scene Unit investigators collect several pieces of evidence, including shell casings, weapons that consist of two knives, and other items from the scene inside Starlight Park.

NYPD crime scene unit investigators place evidence into evidence bags at the scene where a 38-year-old man is fatally shot multiple times throughout the body in front of 541 Marcy Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, New York, United States, on June 19, 2025. On Thursday evening at approximately 11:35 PM, the NYPD in the confines of the 79th precinct responds to the area and discovers the shooting scene. The 38-year-old man is transported to Kings County Hospital where he is pronounced dead from the gunshot wound injuries he sustains. There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing. Members of the NYPD crime scene unit mark several pieces of evidence found at the scene, which include shell casings.
