Originally built to serve English Catholics, Sacred Heart hausted Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Croatian, and Aboriginal Catholic communities. Throughout its history, the Church has been known as a destination for immigrants and transients, and describes itself as living a tradition of welcoming the stranger'.
