A boy passes by the bridge over the river that still fell very grown in the town of Ruente (Cantabria), Spain, on 25 January 2019 due to the amount of rain fallen by the storm. A total of 61 municipalities, most of them located in the riverbank areas of the community of Cantabria have been affected by flooding caused by heavy rains in recent hours, which have generated a situation "very complicated" , especially in the basins of the rivers Saja and Besaya as well as in Caranceja or Virgen de la Peña.This forced to move to the area a unit of the UME (Military Emergency Unit) composed of more than 200 men to help in the work of evacuation, cleaning or transfer.

The area between 17 Mile and Natu La along the Jawahar Lal Nehru Marg, received very heavy snow fall on 28 December 2018. This led to 300 - 400 civil vehicles getting stranded near 17 Mile carrying close to 3000 tourists which included women, children and elderly persons, who were returning after visit to Natu La Pass along the India -China border. The Indian Army immediately swung into action to provide rescue and relief to the stranded tourists including provision of food, shelter, warm clothing and medicines. Over 2500 tourist have been been accommodated at army barracks in 17 Mile, while the balance have been lodged at 13 Mile Army Camp. Indian Army has also provided two sets of JCBs and Dozers of BRO for snow clearance and restoration of road connectivity. As per Indian Army, the evacuation operation will continue till all stranded tourists are safely moved out towards Gangtok. On December 29, 2018 at Sikkim, India.

SRINAGAR, INDIAN CONTROLLED KASHMIR, INDIA - MARCH 03: Snow cutters of Indian Border Roads Organisation clearing snow from Srinagar-Leh Highway on a treacherous pass which remains snow bound for most of the time is likely to open early this year mostly because of less snowfall and dry weather on March 03, 2016 in Zojila, 108 km east of Srinagar, the summer capital of Indian controlled Kashmir, India. Snow clearance begins on the 443 km long Srinagar Leh Highway and is expected to be thrown open by ending March this year as per Indian Border Roads Organisation. The highway remains snowbound for most of the time due to accumulation of snow on Zojila pass which connects Kashmir with Ladakh region a famous tourist destination among foreign tourists for its monasteries, landscapes and mountains. The average snow buildup on the rocky territory of Zojila pass normally stays in the level of 15 to 25 meters and is closed for a half of each year. It opens up in late spring and travelers on the pass have to withstand snowstorms, fierce air currents, cold and highly dangerous circumstances.
