Fishermen go to sea to lower the drag net using a boat in Pangandaran, West Java, on September 7, 2025. Drag nets are one of 10 groups of fishing gear that are permitted to be used by Indonesian fishermen based on the Regulation of the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, which aims to protect small fishermen and environmental sustainability. The length of the rope used is 2000 meters with a 500-meter net pulled by 15-20 people working together in a traditional way.
